We really can’t wait to take some time to put together a brief summary of this time in our lives just so we can share with you the undeniably amazing ways the Lord answers our prayers - even sometimes with a resounding “NO!”
But every time we were left wondering why God would allow things to happen the way they did, we just couldn’t see ahead to where He was bringing us. You really just won’t believe it.
***But until then here’s a great report for the day! Today was Emi’s first day OFF of oxygen! And even while walking 3 laps around the floor twice today, her oxygen saturation stayed at 100%!!!
The last two and a half weeks since transplant have been a bit of a roller coaster. The road to recovery has more bumps than Charlotte County side streets 😂 So we love sharing the good stuff with all of you who have been in prayer with us and we hope that you’re encouraged to serve a God that can take tiny, dying people and restore them and use them for His glory! So say YES! Use me!!

Hey everyone!! Super proud of our girl today and just had to put this quick video together (with emi’s help haha) to share with you. We left the ICU on Friday!! and we’re in a step down unit. It’s been 11 days since the transplants and she’s been walking laps around the floor like crazy. It’s almost TOO easy now! So they decided to take her to the rehab gym so we can work on putting some muscle on her and increasing her endurance. Before the transplants we tried to get her to do those little step stairs and it was almost impossible but now she’s actually doing it!
We had an eventful day but everyday around here is pretty non stop. They took out her catheter and she had her first pee with the new kidney!! She also had a bronchoscopy this morning and managed to walk around the floor 3 times! We have definitely hit many obstacles and she is pushing through sooooooo much but everyone here is just blown away by her recovery. This is a GOD thing people!!! We are so grateful for your prayers!!! Please keep them coming because we have a long road ahead. Love to all of you!

Hey fellow soldiers
Today marks one week that Emi has had her new lungs and kidney!!! And wow has it been a busy one. Also a bit of a roller coaster as new challenges pop up around so many corners. But she’s pushed harder than we ever thought possible this week and we’d love to hop on here and share an update with everyone maybe in a Facebook Live Video tomorrow!
The hour or two leading up to evening shift change is usually the only free time we have at all. But it’s hard to pinpoint because people come in and out and she has procedures and therapies all day long. We thought we could shoot for somewhere between 5 and 6, and make a post when we’re getting close to when we can hop on.
So that’s the plan tomorrow if all goes well.
We’re excited to share all of the amazing things God has been doing this week and excited for what He is able to do in your lives too! If you guys have questions we can try to answer those also. So hopefully we’ll see you then. Watch for a post when we get closer to that time. And for now we’ll leave you with a photo of Em early this morning on her one week anniversary with her transplant surgeon who’s an angel on earth!
