Infirmary Health hospital presidents and Infirmary Fitness Center trainers successfully completed the fitness challenge benefitting the American Cancer Society’s Real Men Wear Pink campaign. Employees and fitness center members donated $5 to the location of their choice to raise money for breast cancer awareness. Susan Boudreau, President of Mobile Infirmary, and trainers Jaleesa and Ryan were charged with burpees. Ormand Thompson, President of Thomas Hospital, and trainers Jill and Terry pounded out pushups, and Ben Hansert, President of North Baldwin Infirmary, along with trainers Josh and Landon, tackled the rowing machine. Thank you to everyone who participated and who generously donated to help stop the fight against breast cancer.

Infirmary Health partnered with Morrison Healthcare during the month of October to collect socks for Socktober! Morrison's Southern Region collected more than 55,000 pairs of socks, and all socks collected at Infirmary Health were donated to The Salvation Army USA. Thanks to everyone who participated!

It was an exciting day at Mobile Infirmary, as the first of our Mobile County Public Schools (MCPSS) teachers and staff began arriving for their COVID-19 vaccine shots! This partnership with the MCPSS is in coordination with the Alabama Public Health (ADPH)’s mass vaccination days. Mobile Infirmary will receive 1,000 additional doses from the ADPH to be distributed Monday – Wednesday, when we plan to administer 2,500 doses over those three days. 📹 Courtesy of mcpssTV

It’s National Women Physicians Day! Today marks the 199th birthday of Dr. Elizabeth Blackwell, the first woman to obtain a medical degree in the United States in 1849. She championed the participation of women in the medical profession and ultimately opened her own medical college for women. Join us in celebrating her achievements and the more than 60 female physicians including clinicians, hospitalists and residents who are an integral part of Infirmary Health along with the many, many others caring for patients across our community.
