Newsletter Our Story About Our Founder Lewis William Mohn O ne way we can show our appreciation is to offer this website, outlining our history. It is designed to help families in making decisions on future arrangements easier and more informed. Born in Wooster, Ohio, and reared in Orrville, Ohio, Lewis was a graduate of Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during WWII as a Pharmacist Mate 2nd class. After his service, he returned to Wooster where he married Martha Hoover and opened his first funeral home. He moved to Pinellas County in 1952 to start serving families at Beach Memorial Funeral Home. In 1957 he managed the Seminole Beach Memorial Funeral Home until 1972, when he, along with his wife Martha, opened the Lewis W. Mohn Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Seminole, setting the highest standards in service to families in their time of need. Lewis was an honorary Fire Chief of the Seminole Volunteer Fire Department, a 56 year member of the Gulf Beach Masonic Lodge, Egypt Temple Shrine, Scottish Rite Valley of Tampa, Tri-City Shrine Club, Hi-Twelve, Seminole Elks Lodge and many other community clubs and activities. Mr. Mohn went to heaven in 2002. Mrs. Mohn continues to operate the funeral home.
