The Radiation Oncology Team is excited to participate in the 17th Annual MVH/Lois Orange Ducoeur Breast Cancer walk in Celebration of our Breast Cancer Survivors and to honor the memory of those who have lost their battle.

MVH employees assembled nearly a dozen riding vehicles including firetrucks and cars fit for princesses that were donated to the Mon Valley Leathernecks, a group of former Marines that coordinates the local Toys for Tots campaign. The vehicles will be distributed to local children in December.

News at Monongahela Valley Hospital: Monongahela Valley Hospital Achieves Healthgrades 2020 Outstanding Patient Experience Award
Effective Monday, Nov. 2, the following guidelines will be in place until further notice:
Daily visiting hours are from 9 a.m. to noon and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Behavioral Health visiting hours are every day from 4 to 7 p.m.
Patients will be asked to name two visitors and only those two people may visit during their entire stay. Only one of the designated visitors will be permitted in a patient room at a time.
While these temporary measures are in place, MVH encourages continued interaction with loved ones through digital means such as, Zoom, Skype, FaceTime, Messenger and other means of communication.

In the nearly four years since MVH introduced its Weight Control and Wellness Program, approximately 40 of the 111 people who had bariatric surgery lost a combined total of 3,605.7 pounds. In addition, six months after their surgeries, 94 percent of the people no longer needed their diabetes medication; and, after one year, 100 percent of the people, who returned for their one-year follow-up appointments, were off of these medications.
