We all find ourselves in a horrid place at this time.

Due to our current environment and circumstance MoonStones... will be closed Thursday 11/26- 12/1.
We have instituted further mitigation measures at the store. As of 11/16 we began limiting our capacity of guests to 4 people at a time. We are offering half hour appointments, guests must be masked, and their temps will be checked at the door.
There is no medical or scientific proof supporting the idea that masks will harm those with asthma, or make your likelihood of getting C19 increase. Given that- if you can't wear a mask please stay home.
We are working to get the website updated and operational so that we can offer curb pick-up.
MoonStones... has been really blessed by our families and university students that have made us a destination stop at the holidays. Over the years this has been such a huge gift to us. In these times, though, given that everyone coming home from school or those coming into town to visit family must quarantine - we expect not to see you.
This Thanksgiving MoonStones... is incredibly grateful for the support of all of you. In turn- the only way MoonStones... can be supportive of you our customers, our friends, is to tell you to please stay home.

Wow- I just came across this and realized I dropped the ball... should have clarified I guess-
So "Pakimers" as these babies are often called, do indeed come from Pakistan. Herkimer has become a descriptive term as well as an actual location in upstate NY. there are absolutely beautiful water clear tiny double terminated quartz that come from Mexico. There are beauties that have carbon and water (millions of years old water!) that come from- the Himalayas! Herkimer diamonds truly do only come from Herkimer NY- but they aren't the only location for Herkimer- types!
Also Himilayas run through India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bhutan, China, and Nepal. So salt has lots of sources too...
