Moore Law Firm is seeking an experienced legal assistant intern to provide general administrative support for our office. If interns prove to be successful during the internship, they will be offered a permanent position at our law firm.
We encourage college students to apply however serious consideration will only be given to students who are geared toward attending law school or members of pre-law groups and activities.
Graduate students are also encouraged to apply.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
*Engaging with new and current clients through a variety of means including in-person, telephone, and email.
*Assisting with new client intake from initial contact through sign-up and conversion.
*Assisting different departments with a variety of clerical work.
*Meeting with clients or other parties outside of the office to obtain or deliver sensitive documents.
The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications:
*Must be bilingual.
*Excellent client service skills with an engaging personality that helps promote our law firm's brand to new or current clients, as well as other parties we may engage.
*An exceptional pairing of time management and attention to detail to ensure that work is done quickly and accurately.
*Must be proficient in professional computer applications such as Word and Excel, as well as possess moderately proficient general computer skills.
*Must have reliable transportation.
*A general interest in advancing their career within the legal field.

In honor of #blackhistorymonth our firm will dedicate every week to celebrate the life and work of a prominent black history hero. This week, we celebrate William H. Hastie, an exceptional attorney who would go on to become the first African American to serve as a federal judge, at one time being the highest-ranking Black federal judge ever, and the first African American to serve a full term as Governor for a US State or territory.
Throughout his illustrious legal career, Hastie was appointed to various positions within the Roosevelt and Truman administrations between the 1930s and 1940s. Using his platform, Hastie would often push for racial reforms and supported decisions that combated segregation.
After retiring from the bench, Hastie continued his work to support Black activism until his death in 1976, having lived long enough to see his colleague, Thurgood Marshall, become the first African American to serve on the US Supreme Court.
