Washington State Opportunity Scholarships for career and technical programs are available to high school students in rural areas, but applications must be in by Thursday at midnight.
The Career and Technical Scholarship (CTS) provides Washington state residents $1,500 per quarter towards an eligible associate degree, certificate or apprenticeship in a trade, STEM or health care field. Funding can be used at any Washington state community or technical college and can be used to cover tuition, fees and other costs of attendance such as housing, transportation, food and more. Additional support will be offered to residents of rural counties, including Grays Harbor and Pacific county.
To be eligible, applicants must have earned a high school diploma or GED from a Washington state institution and have a family income at or below 125% of Washington’s median family income (less than $121,000 for a family of four). Applications are due by midnight on Thursday, June 4. More information can be found at waopportunityscholarship.org.
