About

Mount Olympus Christian Child Development Center (MOCCDC) exists to provide high quality, developmentally appropriate childcare with a Christian emphasis to members of the community. The philosophy of MOCCDC is to provide children with an opportunity to grow and learn in a nurturing, Christian environment. As a vital part of our community, MOCCDC is both a service and a ministry. Our learning environments are conducive to fun, exploration, discovery, and security, and follow developmentally appropriates guidelines. Our staff places a high priority on elevating the spiritual, social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth of each child in our care. The curriculum at MOCCDC focuses on balancing the time spent between activities, which develop skills in the following areas: spiritual, physical, cognitive, language, and social development. Our skilled staff has developed a Christian-based, developmentally appropriate curriculum, which addresses all of these facets of learning.

Parents, We are absolutely blown away by your generosity! Our breakroom has been completely furnished by donations. Words cannot express our appreciation. All we can say is THANK YOU! โค๐Ÿ’•
Hi Parents! I am currently in the process of creating a breakroom for our teachers (can you believe we don't have one?!). As our budget is pretty tight, I thought it would be good to ask if anyone has anything they would like to donate first. I know we have asked for a lot over the past few months, so please do not feel obligated. However, if you would like to, here are some of the items I am looking for: -Couch/Chairs -Microwave -Toaster Oven -Side Table(s) -Lamp -Coffee and Hot Chocolate Pods for Keurig -Drinks and Snacks If you have an item you would like to donate, you can contact me or purchase directly from our Amazon wishlist! We would very much appreciate it! View our Amazon wish list here: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3FU5RELCQ4YW9?ref_=wl_share AMAZON.COM Check out my list on Amazon
"As Christians, we know that all people are made precious and in the image of God. As followers of Jesus, we hear his words, 'whatever you did to the least of these, you did it to me.' As a congregation, we seek to live out our high calling in Christ to especially care for, listen to, seek out, and love those who are hurting, wounded or in need. In these days, we especially lift up our Black siblings, to affirm that their lives matter, and to seek to be part of bringing more light, love, and justice to our world. The realities of racial injustice have always been with us, but are becoming more and more known and acknowledged. Please join us in prayer and action." Parents! We are in need of Lysol Disinfectant Spray. We mainly use this to spray our blocks and the vans when after school pick-up is done. We've been keeping an eye out in stores and when we place our Costco order, but we haven't been able to find any. If you see a can while you are out and about, could you please pick one up for us? Other useful donations: -Lysol Wipes -Hand Sanitizer Thank you! ๐Ÿ’•

While we leave behind a year of disappoints, may we remember all the ways God blessed us. We at Mt. O are thankful for each and every one of our families who have helped us stay afloat in a year where many centers have had to close their doors for good. We are so grateful to the community that makes us what we are. Happy New Year everyone! ๐Ÿ’• May God continue to bless you and your family.
The obituary for Nancy Zander. ๐Ÿ’• LARKINMORTUARY.COM Nancy Jean Zander
We are absolutely devastated to learn of the passing of our dear Ms. Nancy. She worked for Mt. O for 20 years in our infant room. Known as the "baby whisperer", she has rocked countless babies and comforted many a new mom as they tearfully dropped off their little one for the first time. To know Ms. Nancy was to love her. She truly has made an impact on every single person she's met and made a difference in the world. We will miss her dearly, but are comforted that she is at peace returning home with our Father in heaven. Ms. Nancy is Brandy Zander's (our toddler teacher) mother, which makes this extra hard. Please keep Brandy and her family in your prayers. If you have any special memories of Nancy, please share them here. We would love to hear them and share them with her family. ๐Ÿ’•
As a reminder, we will be closed Monday, January 18th in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Happy Birthday Ms. Brandy! We hope you enjoy your day. We're glad we got to celebrate with you!
We'll be having a red and pink day for Valentine's Day! Send your child in red or pink if they have it. โค๐Ÿ’˜
Did Ms. Nancy share some advice when your little one was in her classroom? Pass it along to her daughter, who is now a new mom herself! Chantel Zander Goodellโ€ŽMount Olympus Christian Child Development Center 21 hrs ยท Hello everyone, I am Nancy Zander youngest daughter. I had my first child in November. Unfortunately with my mom passing shortly after, I was unable to get much advice to help with my son from my mother known as the baby whisperer. I would love to known what advice / guidance my mom gave each of you that made this journey in motherhood a little bit easier.
Parents, My apologies for the late notice, but at this point we are going to close school today and call a SNOW DAY! We have over a foot of snow at Mt. O. Our parking lot has not been plowed yet and we are unsure of when it will be. With triple the commute time for most of our staff and unplowed roads in many areas, we feel this is the safest option for staff and families. Please enjoy your day! Hopefully you are able to curl up with some hot cocoa or head out for a day of sledding!
After assessing road conditions (particularly the routes that our teachers must travel) and at the recommendation of UDOT, we will be opening on a two-hour delay. Drop-off will begin at 10:30 am for all students. Thank you for your understanding. Please drive safely.
Happy birthday Ms. Ally! We appreciate all you do for us and we are glad we got to celebrate with you!
Happy late birthday (Feb. 17) to Ms. Anna! She was lucky enough to celebrate on a snow day!
On the first day of Read Across America week, we read All Are Welcome by Alexandra Penfold.
With another part of the grant we received, we also were able to install a plexiglass divider between our Three's classroom and our Pre-K classroom. Previously, we used foam boards covered in fabric. This is a nice upgrade!
We received a grant from the state for new tricycles. Our toddlers and twos will love these! ๐Ÿ˜Š
Parents, we have "egg"-citing news! We will be incubating chicken eggs! ๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿ“ The little ones are set to arrive tomorrow and should hatch in about 21 days. It should be fun for the kiddos to see the whole process!
