It’s been almost 50 years since my family decided to try the mower shop business. Sold Northwest Lawnmower on Pinemont in 1998, new owners closed around 2007.
I decided to try it again, opening in 2011 on 34th and Mangum, moved to Hempstead Road next to Turner Hardware almost a year ago.
47 years in and around the power equipment business for me.

happy holidays to everyone and best wishes for all in the coming New Year ! 2020 has been interesting, challenging and irritating from a number of perspectives and we all hope to learn and grow from as much of it as we can and leave the rest behind us. For those who are interested, and don't already know the history of our company, it actually started in the early 70s by my parents, Bill and Arlene Tankersley as Northwest Lawnmower Service. We were located near the corner of Pinemont and Antoine near Oak Forest, Forest West and Candlelight Oaks. The shop was there until 2007 and had been sold to another family since 1996. Christmas morning my dad passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on DeMilo Dr, where we all grew up. We will miss him and always appreciate him for all he taught us. He was known as a good neighbor and generous business operator.

2021 is here !! We're having a beautiful mild winter so far and hope everyone is making the most of it.
At Mower Parts and Supply Co we are looking forward to 2021 with great optimism.
Last year, we had so many folks spending more time at home and taking better care of their homes, the repair flow activity became overwhelming. It was this way all around town and all the shops were as much as 3-6 weeks behind on repair work.

Dispose of old fuels now, and buy fresh, Even if your fuel is only 60-90 days old, that's too old !! With temperature changes and condensation it could also have water collecting in it.
If your equipment is in "good working order" we have preventive maintenance procedures to keep it that way for the coming season or two. These procedures include.................Fuel system flush, change oil, sharpen, service air filter and spark plug, check engine speed and lubrication of chassis components. Prices vary with different equipment and repair to re-establish operation or performance is extra.

2020 was a good year for us at Mower Parts and Supply. We've completed 2 years in our new location on Hempstead at Kempwood / W 34th St. next to Turner Hardware. We also became a full line Toro Lawn equipment dealer in 2020 and are off to a great start with the product line.
We would like to add another service technician to our team. We are looking for someone with aptitude and interest in small engine and outdoor equipment service. We need focus on quality and precision more than speed. We need a desire to learn and improve more than experience.

OK, So you want winter. Well, we got it. It may be only for a week or two, but they're cramming the whole thing, plus the last 2 years in there too.

The mild winter I spoke of recently has escalated into a situation that will surely delay the spring bloom.
With this in mind we will, beginning immediately and continuing through March 6, put priority on the service of GENERATORS.

We want to have the best chance of your generator to run if you need it for the rest of winter and hurricane season. Remember, when these problems happen, it's not only the service shops and personnel that have problems, but the parts suppliers, FedEx, UPS and USPS experience challenges as well. At this point we may not have replenishment of parts for several weeks. The carryover from the COVID problem of last year continues to create supply problems.
