After a video showed two Canyon Country business owners harrassing him, a fruit vendor returned to the sidewalk. He pulled into the parking lot slowly and paused –– he didn't expect the hundreds of people lined up ready to show love to his family.
Many of the people saw the video and wanted to change the narrative by giving positive support after the owners of Bergie's Bar and Grill were caught on video making contact with the vendor.
Recorded near the intersection of Soledad Canyon Road and Sand Canyon Road in Canyon Country, the clip began with a woman telling the vendor "sheriff's (deputies) are already on the way."
Much of the video contains the exchange between the person recording and a man that said he wanted the fruit stand gone because "this isn't Pacoima. It looks like sh#%...we aren't the fu#%ing ghetto. It needs to go."
Since it's release on social media, thousands of negative reviews have been left on the restaurant's business accounts. Their pages have since been removed from Facebook.
The person who stopped to help the vendor and posted the video said "the situation made me furious, but honestly I felt more embarrassed than angry knowing that there are still people like that out there today."
