Fats are necessary, especially for balancing hormones, keeping your skin and hair healthy and maintain your digestive processes. Eliminating a food group is never sustainable. Plan for relaxation. Most of us are busy during the week and even our weekends seem to become non-stop errands, chores, work and travel. So how do you find time to relax? Take the whole weekend (or at least part of it) to schedule some downtime for at least an hour or two. Whether it's practicing your favorite hobby, watching a movie, or even meditating quietly, do something every weekend that recharges you. You'll not only feel better, but also beat stress (which may also ) help you drop a few pounds. #npfamilypractice #relax #planforrelaxation #health #healthtip

Health Tip: Practice Positive Self-Talk! A major aspect of self-care is the "self" part, and that includes how you view yourself and, importantly, the language you use when talking to yourself. Appreciate the small tasks you do during the day and remember to tell yourself “good job” — whether it’s a work task, making time for exercise, or keeping your patience when disciplining your child. Celebrate your daily successes with positive self-talk. It might feel weird at first, but your brain will soak up that self-care goodness, and research suggests it can help begin to turn your thoughts and feelings in a happier direction. We encourage you to include practicing positive self-talk daily. #npfamilypractice #health #healthtip #positive #positiveselftalk
Health Tip: Get Organized! Getting organized is often the first step to becoming a healthier you, because it allows you to figure out exactly what you need to do to take better care of yourself. A small change, like keeping a planner or a calendar on the fridge, can help you write down all your responsibilities and appointments, while at the same time keeping your life a bit more organized. You can also create an area to keep keys, purses, backpacks, briefcases, and coats, and make sure they’re ready to go for the next day. We encourage you to take care of yourself by getting organized, your body will thank you! #npfamilypractice #health #healthtip #get organized
Health Tip for the day: Exercise Daily! We all know exercise is good for us, but do we really know how good it is? Daily exercise can help you both physically and mentally, boosting your mood and reducing stress and anxiety, not to mention helping you shed extra weight. Of course, it might be hard to go to the gym every day, so try to incorporate other exercises, such as walking, tennis, or yoga, which may be able to fit into your schedule more easily. The most important thing is to create a routine that works for you. #npfamilypractice #health #healthtip #exercise #execisedaily
