Mukul Arya, MD, is a gastroenterologist at NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group Brooklyn and the director of advanced endoscopy at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. Dr. Arya specializes in advanced endoscopy, GERD and its related complications, and pancreato-biliary disease. He is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology and has been practicing for more than 15 years. Dr. Arya graduated from St. George’s University School of Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He served his gastroenterology residency at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He moved to New York and completed his advanced therapeutic endoscopy fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital.
Dr. Arya serves as the president of the Brooklyn Gastroenterology Association and is a member of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association, and the Medical Society of the State of New York. He is the founder and vice president of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin’s NYC Metro Chapter. A leader in his field, Dr. Arya has been a speaker at numerous conferences and has served as a consultant with several pharmaceutical and medical device companies. He has won awards, including the Patients’ Choice Compassionate Doctor Recognition program. Dr. Arya organized the first ever live endoscopic course at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in 2014 and established the advanced endoscopy fellowship training program there.
