I heard of Musicare by word of mouth as I searched high and low for the perfect acoustic electric guitar! The store is family run and Jim and Dave were amazing! I played a couple fixed up guitars and found the perfect one. Not only did I find my guitar, I also found a great used PA system for a reasonable price. Both items were reasonably priced as well as the mic and all other gear needed for the set up 👌 The best thing was the kindness and passion both gentleman have for their work. Will be returning!
As a beginner performer, I was grateful for the knowledge! Here is a photo of my first performance with my new gear. Thanks guys!

A very happy 81st birthday to National Endowment for the Arts #JazzMaster Hubert Laws. Following on the heels of Herbie Mann and even Eric Dolphy, Hubert is the preminent jazz flutist in the world. Born in Houston, his musical family includes brother saxophonist Ronnie Laws and vocalists sisters Eloise Laws Music and #DebraLaws. In 4 decades of playing Hubert Laws is well recognized in the pop, R&B, film and classical worlds as well. Hubert's version of Bobby Timmons' "Dat Dere" was performed at Zipper Concert Hall in 2016 for the The Jazz Bakery.
Check out this incredible pair of horns. The 1930's Art Deco Conn "Pan in the Window" Trombone and Trumpet feature a matte silver finish with gold wash bells and engravings on the bells and a strong American art deco aesthetic. The trumpet features fluted valve casings, and the trombone has beautifully angled counterweights in a similar style as the trumpet valve casings. This is a good example of why it is important to NOT store your mouthpiece attached to the neck of your saxophone. Over time the neck cork becomes stuck to the inside of the mouthpiece, the cork then separates from the saxophone neck. Save your cork, and take the mouthpiece off the neck when you are done using your instrument. If you need help with your saxophone or any other instruments bring it in and we will give you a free estimate.

I remember our 1st night playing together, duo... we walked on stage... Chick noodled a couple of disjointed random notes on the piano... and off we went... never looking back.
He was a musical wonder, my true playmate, stretching me, taking me places I would have never gone on my own.

A TRIBUTE TO CHICK COREA: One of the qualities I have always strived for as a jazz musician is rhythmic freedom. Through his rhythmic ingenuity, Chick Corea relentlessly dominates every musical situation over any repertoire. He redefined modern jazz piano with his iconic 1968 trio album “Now He Sings, Now he Sobs” particularly with his recording “Matrix”. His approach on a 12-bar blues was unprecedented at the time with his thought-provoking rhythmic placement of simple melodies. Though his vocabulary was eerily similar to McCoy Tyner’s, both piano masters established very distinct styles from one another in terms of rhythm.
Chick Corea was a giant, an icon, and true genius whose profound influence in modern jazz piano is inescapable. His legacy lives on! Rest In Peace #ChickCorea

#OnThisDay On March 3, 1931, “The Star-Spangled Banner” officially became the U.S. national anthem. Written in 1814 as a poem by Francis Scott Key, it remains a patriotic song about the U.S. flag (“star-spangled banner”) waving triumphantly after the U.S. victory against British forces at Fort McHenry. The lyrics would be combined with the music from “The Anacreontic Song” by John Stafford Smith to create the final version that we know today.

Alas they've come for Dr. SEUSS, they wish to hang him with a noose. They claim his tales were racist bent, they judged him fast, missed what he meant.
But if we look inside his tales, you'll find the balance of the scales. Remember when Horton heard a Who, and we heard the wisdom of the Lorax too. The lesson behind Green Eggs and Ham, that changed the mind of Sam I am. Remember too the rotten Grinch, who once would never give an inch. He taught us lessons, one and all, boys and girls, big and small.
So if you've judged his works as poor, you should re- read them, I implore. The man we know as Dr. SEUSS, turned our imaginations loose. His impact was beyond compare, he taught us it was good to care. To accept the red, the blue, the green, and on each other we can lean.
So if you still won't give an inch, your heart has hardened like the Grinch. Release the grudge, the hate, the rue, and embrace the hope of Cindy Lou.

We had a pretty dramatic repair come in on a beautiful cello. Dave had to prep the neck for repair, rebuild the dovetail at the neck, then secure the neck. It needed to be strong enough to withstand the nearly 150 lbs of pressure that comes with the tension of the strings. Dave got it done and we are happy with the result!
