Traits of Copper Tables, Sinks and Bathtubs - The key to bringing beauty and function together

Going beyond its handcrafted form, copper brings with its function - creating a perfect bond between the two. Copper is germicidal, via a chemical reaction which sanitizes the surface of the sink or tub or metal [known as the oligodynamic offer]. These antimicrobial properties of copper are effective against MRSA, Escherichia Coli & other pathogens. This effect progresses faster in warmer temperatures. Surfaces such as stainless steel & aluminum do not do this. Copper does not react with water [H2O], but instead, it only reacts with oxygen [O2], which gives copper the ability to change its appearance over time through shades of brown-black. Through these exclusive traits, copper brings with it not only a unique style for your home but an impressive ability to be functional on levels non-other material would otherwise accomplish.

Caring/Cleaning for Your Copper Table, Copper Bathtubs, Copper Sink and other Copper Furniture

Regular cleaning is important and can most easily be done with soap and water. Drying is very important to eliminate any build-up that may develop from hard water deposits.

Because of copper's natural composition, cleaning is easy. Simply rinse after each use to rid the surface of any soap or dirt. For a more thorough cleaning, wash occasionally with dish soap and a sponge.

Note:

Never use cleaners containing abrasive cleansers, ammonia, bleach, acids, waxes, alcohol, solvents or other products not recommended for copper. Never use steel wool to clean your copper sink and bathtub.

Housekeepers love to scrub and polish and typically use a variety of abrasive cleaning agents and disinfectants when they clean the kitchen and bathroom, please informed them of the tender care of your copper furniture to avoid any potential damage to the copper finish.
Copper Finishes and Their Maintenance
Copper Tables, Sinks and Tubs will patina with time and normal use, creating a much sought-after living finish. If you wish to keep your copper fixture in its original condition and prevent the natural aging process, wipe it dry after each use.

Copper Wax / Renaissance Wax Polish:

For an added layer of protection (especially in 'hard water' areas), consider giving your copper furniture (Copper Tables, Copper Range Hoods, Copper Bathtubs )a very light coat of wax.

A high-quality wax, specifically made for plumbing fixtures, will protect your copper furniture against the build up of mineral deposits and other types of water/soap residue. For those who live in a 'hard water' area, waxing your sink or bath tub is a definite plus. How often should you apply a new coat of wax? As often as needed. When you notice that water is no longer 'beading up' on the surface of your copper tables or bathtub, it's time to apply another coat. Some of our customers have used Renaissance Wax Polish for added protection for their copper product. You can find in Amazon and some other stores. Here's one sold through Amazon.
