Jeffrey Schmelter, DMD, MA, is an experienced general dentist at My Time Dental Centers in Mesa, Arizona. He’s licensed for sedation dentistry, including IV sedation, nitrous oxide, and oral sedation, to ease dental fears and anxiety.
Dr. Schmelter began his career as an administrator for a not-for-profit organization, working with developmentally disabled adults. After noting his clients’ lack of oral health instruction, dental education, and dental care access, he offered basic oral hygiene instruction and realized his true calling of becoming a dentist.
Dr. Schmelter completed his bachelor’s degree at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He finished his master’s degree in biomedical science at Midwestern University-Glendale in Arizona. Dr. Schmelter completed dental school at Midwestern University-Illinois in Downers Grove, where he obtained his doctor of dental medicine.
After dental school, Dr. Schmelter completed a general practice residency at Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. He then returned home to Phoenix to work in the private sector. Dr. Schmelter enjoys all aspects of dentistry, including IV sedation, oral surgery, general dentistry, fixed prosthodontics, implantology, and cosmetic dentistry.
