Your #COVID19_WI update with the highest number of reported deaths on a single day, and Dunn County reporting a life lost for the first time. It is important to note that this number reflects the date that deaths were reported to public health, and not the date of deaths. This means there is a slight delay, since it takes time for deaths to be reported to public health and included in the death counts. As we see an uptick in cases, we can expect to see an uptick in more severe outcomes, like death. Remember, newly reported #COVID19 deaths can fluctuate from day-to-day. Instead of focusing on the number of new deaths, it’s helpful to monitor the over-time trends: dhs.wisconsin.gov/covid-19/deaths.htm
Happy Labor Day! Remember as you celebrate with family and friends today, continue to practice social distancing and good handwashing and most importantly stay safe!
