This morning, the Baltimore City Circuit Court vacated the conviction of Melvin Thomas, who spent nearly 19 years in prison for an attempted murder he did not commit. Later today, Melvin will leave prison as a free man, thanks to the work of Attorney Booth Ripke of Nathans & Biddle LLP, the Mid-Atlantic Innocence Project, and the Conviction Integrity Unit of the Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Office.
