Starting today we can begin to discuss benefits for Medicare Insurance. If you watched the debate the other night, one of the things mentioned were Prescription Drug Pricing. HUGE NEWS!! The Trump Administration has put a new program in for anyone on Medicare that is currently taking Insulin. For anyone that doesn't know, insulin has costs seniors so much money for years and years. Starting in January, there is a new program called the Insulin Cap Program. Seniors who get signed up with a plan that has the Cap Program installed will only have to pay a max of 35.00 per prescription (instead of hundreds of dollars per insulin prescription) We are so excited for this!! I know personally we have hundreds of clients who have struggled paying for their insulin. Here is the deal, anyone on Medicare can change their plan from October 15-December 7th. If you have a parent, friend, or you yourself is on insulin and on Medicare............make sure you are signed up for a plan that has the insulin cap program in the benefit. If you have an agent, make sure you ask them. If you don't have an agent, we will be glad to help. Our office can sign you up over the phone or in person. You can make an appointment by calling 336-584-2705. PLEASE do this if you are on Medicare!! The average Medicare client that takes insulin pays close to $15.00 per day right now. This is a huge savings!! Not all plans have this cap! Please share this post, or contact your friends that are on insulin. They have from October 15-December 7th to take advantage of this program!!
Annual Notice of Change Video meetings of the 2021 Medicare Plans are now available. Please call office, if you would like to have your video emailed to you about your plan for the next year. We look forward to seeing everyone in person next year! Stay safe out there!!
The Medicare Annual Enrollment Period is almost here! October 15-December 7th. We can start talking about plan benefits tomorrow October 1st! We have some big news concerning the Insulin program put in by the current administration. Please tune in tomorrow if you know anyone or you currently take Insulin and you are on Medicare. You don't want to miss this news!! So excited!!
We will never forget.
To Medicare Advantage Clients who have a dental benefit: PLEASE READ!!!!
Starting in January 2020, the Federal Government started checking with the plans to make sure that the federal dollars were being spent on Dentist that accept Medicare assignment. Basically, if your dentist does not accept Medicare assignment your dental work will not be reimbursed. Some plans are HMO, some have networks, some plans say you can go to any dentist. This is very confusing and we have had alot of questions. So we wanted to give you this little form to help with the confusion:
HMO Plans: Must use an in network Medicare Dentist (the list will be available on the plan's website.) If you don't use a dentist on this list, it will not be covered by the plan.
POS Plans: (Point of Service) These plans do not require a network, HOWEVER........you must use a dentist that accepts Medicare assignment!!
PPO Plans: These plans do not require a network either, HOWEVER you must use a dentist that accepts Medicare assignment.
Unfortunately Medicare does not have a list of providers that accept Medicare to find. They only provide a link of providers that do not accept Medicare assignment. This has been an issue all year long for members. Please, if you are on one of the above plans follow the guidelines for your plan. If you are on an HMO, use the plan's website to find an in network Dentist. If you are on a POS or PPO plan, ask this question "Do you accept Medicare assignment?" If they say no, your plan will not reimburse you for any Dental.
We have a list of dental providers in our area that do accept Medicare assignment. We are going to list them here.........However, this list can change and we cannot guarantee that these dentists won't opt out in the future. Please ask this question before having your service done, if you want it covered on your plan. See below the list we have that is current as of today's date only. **Again, the dentist could opt out of Medicare tomorrow. The list is active as of today 8/24/2020.**

Today, President Biden signed an executive order to reopen the federal marketplace selling Affordable Care Act plans.
Key Points
Big News on the Affordable Care Act!!!!!
The Special Enrollment Period (SEP) will go into effect February 15, 2021 through May 15, 2021, which is when consumers will be able to begin enrolling in plans.
The intent of the SEP is to give consumers who need health care coverage during the pandemic the opportunity to sign up.
The executive order directs the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to take action to open a new COVID SEP. Further guidance from HHS and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services is expected as a result with more details.
We will share more details about this as we learn more.
If you were a client of ours last year, and bought Health Insurance through the Marketplace and received a subsidy.........Be on the lookout for your 1095 forms from the Marketplace. We are aware that most of our clients that have purchased health care plans have not received their ID cards. We have emailed everyone instructions for each carrier on how to get your ID card. Please check the email that you gave us when you signed up for the insurance. We apologize, it is not just one company though. We have been told its due to Covid and the USPS postal system being delayed. Please check your emails and follow the instructions to get your Health Insurance ID Card.
