This is my first machine. It's a Singer Fashion Mate 237. Made in Italy in 1968. It needed some serious cleaning and some parts were missing. The Race cover, which covers the bobbin case and hook assembly in place, was broken at it hinge side. The bobbin winder tire is almost dry rotted and believe it or not the upper section of the presser arm assembly was missing. I have ordered the parts on Sewing Parts Online and I found a used complete presser arm assembly online at eBay. Owner wants it fixed if I can fix it. All the movements are smooth and nothing sticks. I have included some photos.

Graduated High School in Norfolk, Va., Joined the Marine Corp in 1971, served honorably for 11-1/2 years. Attended a four year University in Norfolk, Va. with a major in Computer Information Systems. Went to work for the Dept of Navy as a computer programmer in 1986. Spent 4 years in London, England. Moved over into Computer Networking and became a Systems Network Engineer. Retired in November of 2001 and moved to Leland, NC. Attended the Sewing Machine Repair Institute in Temple, Texas where I learned how to service and repair sewing machines regardless of Brand or Model to include Long Arm Quilters, Embroiderers and Sergers (Overlocks).
