Did you know that snakes and lizards use their tongue to detect scent particles rather than a nose? This provides them with all sorts of information about their surroundings and helps them track and hunt for their prey.

If you're just getting started with the fishkeeping hobby, some experts recommend adopting goldfish as your first aquatic pets. Goldfish are hardy, long-lived, and don't require a heated or large tank to survive.
Would you believe that certain types of snakes could actually go months without eating? This is especially true of the big constrictors, such as the Anaconda and the reticulated python. Snakes eat large meals, and they have much slower metabolisms than we humans have.

Live bearers are fish that bear live young rather than lay eggs. These species tend to breed rather easily, producing large numbers of young. Excellent fish in this category include swordtails, platys, black mollies, and guppies.
Snakes are relatively easy to clean up after compared to most pets. Because their diet consists of mean, they do have fecal droppings, but lining the tank with newspaper will help keep the terrarium tidy. You should keep a bowl of clean fresh water available, so your snake can have a drink and bathe whenever it wishes.
