Dr. Ashley Sikand is a physician and partner at Ear, Nose, and Throat Consultants of Nevada. It is the largest ENT practice in the state of Nevada. Dr. Sikand joined the practice in 1996. Since then, he has become well-known in the medical community for his expertise in endoscopic sinus surgery. He is also an expert in skull base surgery and microscopic ear surgery.
Over the last several years, he has focused his medical practice to the treatment of sinus disease. This also includes other disorders of the nose and sinuses. Thus, Nevada Sinus Relief was born.
The origin of Nevada Sinus Relief evolved from the research and publications that Dr. Sikand has conducted in the area of minimally invasive treatment for sinusitis. As a result, this has centered around office-based treatment techniques including balloon sinus dilation.
Dr. Sikand published one of the first articles on office-based sinus procedures in September of 2011 (Operative Techniques in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery). After that, a large multi-center study involving 203 patients was published in May of 2013. In March of 2015, this was followed with an extensive publication in the Annals of Otology, Rhinology, and Laryngology.
In addition to pioneering office-based and less invasive techniques, Dr. Sikand has made presentations at numerous meetings within the specialty. Currently, he is a panel expert and consultant for medical and surgical companies. He is a physician trainer specific to these methods of treating sinus disease.
