Cameron K. Rokhsar, M.D., F.A.A.D., F.A.A.C.S., an internationally renowned laser surgeon, is a Board Certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained cosmetic and laser surgeon in private practice in Manhattan and Long Island. He practices cosmetic and general dermatology with a particular focus on laser and other non surgical treatments, aesthetic enhancements with fillers, Mohs Micrographic Surgery, minimally invasive liposuction, and the treatment of acne and acne scars.
Dr. Rokhsar is an Associate Professor of Dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital. He completed his undergraduate studies at Harvard University and attended medical school at The New York University School of Medicine where he received his doctorate of medicine. After his internship at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, he completed his dermatology residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City where he was honored for his teaching and leadership skills as Chief Resident. In addition, Dr. Rokhsar received fellowship training in cosmetic, laser and dermatologic surgery in San Diego, California.
In his career, Dr. Rokhsar has been involved in the development of several laser systems and has conducted pivotal research projects to develop protocols for other laser systems. In particular, Dr. Rokhsar was involved in the development of the Fraxel laser technology, having worked with the prototype device for about a year in 2003. Fraxel, has since become the number one laser resurfacing procedure in the world. Dr. Rokhsar introduced the Fraxel laser technology in Tremblant, Canada in 2004 and has since introduced fractional resurfacing to various parts of the world including Europe, South America, Asia, and Russia. Dr. Rokhsar has taught more physicians in the United States and around the world on the use of Fraxel for fractional resurfacing than any other physician.
