"10 stars! I had LASIK done at Newsom Eye and this was one of the BEST decisions I have ever made! I have been wearing glasses since I was 7 and in the couple days after having the procedure done it has changed my life! I can see clearer and farther than before the surgery and it makes me speechless! Best of all, no more fumbling with glasses when I wake up, no touching my eyes, or worrying about falling asleep with my contacts in... It's amazing! I knew that I was in good hands and as soon as I got up from the table I could see! That's how fast LASIK works!! Dr. Newsom is an AMAZING doctor and surgeon! If I had to do it again I would definitely do this with Dr. Newsom and the team at Newsom Eye. I absolutely LOVE my Newsom eyes!!"

We should all be in the habit of double checking when we cross streets or lanes of traffic, just to compensate for potential blind spots. When the optic nerve and blood vessels leave the eyeball, a blind spot occurs. They’re not usually something to worry about unless they begin occurring regularly, or have become detached and float around your vision.

Scheduling routine eye exams are the most important factor in maintaining your overall corneal health. While most ailments of the cornea can be easily treated, such as dry eyes, some of the problems associated with it can be time sensitive, so regular eye exams are recommended. Contact lens-related corneal ulcers and pterygia are some examples of these time-sensitive issues. Talk to your Newsom Eye cornea specialist about the many treatment options available to those suffering from cornea-related problems.

Here are some tips and tricks that’ll keep you from overworking your peepers while you’re at work!
👁️ Don’t make your eyes work any harder than they have to. If your screen is brighter than the lighting in your office, turn it down! It’ll reduce eye strain.
👁️ Humidity control can pull the moisture from the air. That can dry out your eyes. Keep artificial tears on hand to keep your eyes lubricated when they’re feeling dry.
👁️ Keep your monitor at least 25 inches away and position it to keep your gaze pointed down.
👁️ The glare from glass screens can aggravate your eyes, so consider investing in a matte filter to lessen the eye strain.
Glaucoma can be diagnosed with normal or even lower than normal eye pressure. There are almost no noticeable symptoms, though high eye pressure is a major risk factor. Medication and surgery can halt vision degradation. Diagnosis is key!
