Next Door Pizza and Bar is brought to you by two longtime entrepreneurs and veterans of the Greater New Haven food industry: Douglas Coffin and Robin Bodak. The two of them met years ago working together at Big Green Truck Pizza in the garage that adjoins our building and houses the BGTP fleet, hence the name, NEXT DOOR.
This is a project that has been long in the making. We admired this space, which housed the historic Humphrey's Bar and Grill for years, and saw an opportunity to bring back some of that neighborly feeling, drawing on our own diverse New Haven experiences. The idea for a Big Green Truck pizzeria has evolved into something much more, reflected in the name: Next Door reflects the closeness & familiarity we all want in a neighborhood establishment.
Thank you to everyone who made this vision possible. We are excited to bring this venue to the neighborhood and hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed creating it!
