About Dr. Giagnacova
Specializing in the often difficult and complicated medical issues affecting the foot and ankle, when Dr. Albert Giagnacova, DPM, became a podiatrist he vowed to provide the highest caliber of podiatric care. At Next Step Foot & Ankle, Dr. Giagnacova serves men, women, and children in Germantown and the surrounding Northwest Philadelphia communities of Roxborough, Manayunk, and Mount Airy.
Dr. Giagnacova grew up in the Delaware Valley in the Philadelphia area and enjoyed the bustling and prosperous metropolis. He graduated from Ursinus College and earned his medical degree from Temple University before training at the Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine, formerly known as the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine.
In 2011, Dr. Giagnacova was named Clinician of the Year by the Heritage Valley Health System Podiatry Residency Program. He is one of only 20 fellowship-trained podiatrists in Pennsylvania and a member of several prestigious associations, including the American Podiatric Medical Association. He is also on American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons committees that governs over 17,000 surgeons.
Dr. Giagnacova has co-authored many academic papers and seen his work published in the Journal of Foot & Ankle Surgery. He is active in his field, having lectured throughout the United States on various foot and ankle topics. Dr. Giagnacova is also involved in medical research and the telemedicine movement.
At Next Step Foot & Ankle, Dr. Giagnacova treats an array of conditions, including dermatologic issues of the foot and ankle, sports injuries, ingrown toenails, bunions, diabetic wounds, arthritis, leg injuries, and infections.
Dr. Giagnacova offers innovative surgical solutions when necessary but always attempts other effective treatment methods first.
