That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Idolatry is the act of aligning your life around an aspiration, ambition, or value. An idol is a symbolic representation of that ambition. So when ancient civilizations bowed down to idols, they were bowing down to the ideas that were associated with those idols, such as security, an abundance of resources, or the ability to have lots of children. As much as the world has changed, humanity still chases after those same things today.
Idolatry is the ordering of your life around any value or aspiration that is not God. An idol is a representation of that value or aspiration. #northboulevard
Ah... those days when we could meet outside in the warm sun with our LIFE groups! #northboulevard #lifegroups #smallgroups #thinksmall
“Follow your dreams,” “Do what you want,” “Have it your way,” might be cute marketing phrases that make us feel good about our lifestyle choices, but they are also evidence of our innate desire to put ourselves above everything else. This way of thinking is behind every sin we’ve ever committed. It is idolatry, and it is the ultimate betrayal of God.
