Distracted and erratic driving kills.
In the last 45 days, our agency has responded to 10 fatal accidents in Cherokee County. From Jan. 1 to Aug. 1, we responded to seven.
The majority of the contributing factors to these crashes that killed someone’s loved one could easily have been prevented. They were speeding, driving distracted, driving recklessly and/or driving impaired.
• Getting to your destination faster is not worth your life or the life of another.
• Checking that text message or that last post on social media is not worth your life or the life of another.
• Calling a cab or an Uber instead of driving impaired could save your life.
It is our job to protect people on the roadways but we can’t do it alone. It is up to you to follow the rules of the road. We stand ready to issue citations to those who don’t.
Please slow down, pay attention to the roadway, don’t drive distracted and of course always wear your seat belts. Thank you very much for your cooperation.

Christopher Chance, 19 years old, is wanted for criminal trespassing that occurred on the morning of 9/30/2020 in unincorporated Cherokee County. Christopher Chance is approximately 5’04” and 140 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen in the area of Ball Ground around 10/1/2020. Christopher has warrants through multiple agencies.

I am asking the community for help! I am cutting out a few of these ribbons and I will have them at the station beginning tomorrow October 1st! Anyone who is interested I am asking for a small contribution to sign your name on one of them! Im seeking signatures from you if you are a cancer survivor, have a family member that is a survivor or lost a loved one to cancer! All money raised will go to help a young lady in our community to cover medical cost for cancer surgery and treatments! I chose the pink ribbon due to October being Breast Cancer awareness month but signatures can be for any type of cancer! At the end of October these will be hung in the windows at the station through the month of November for everyone to see! You can make a donation even if you don't sign one of the ribbons! Im starting with three but will gladly cut out more if I need to, and I hope to have to! These ribbons are 20 inch by 30 inch to hold as many signatures as possible! Thank you all and God Bless Each and Every One of You! I Love you all!

I'm asking all of my friends to share about the event! The more people that come, the more money we can raise for our Veterans in Cherokee County! There will be a food truck there, The Cheese Brats Truck with some great food! Also there are alot of fabulous raffle prizes as well! There will be a full Military Display for everyone to enjoy! I believe we will have vendors there as well! I have put my heart and soul into this exhibit for many years and its purpose is to educate the youth, Let those who serve know they are appreciated and raise money to help Veterans in need! Every single dollar counts!

See the City of Canton Police Department, GA sitting there watching traffic. I’m guessing there’s no noise ordnance inside the city limits because the EXTREMELY LOUD CARS AND TRUCKS that have driven by in the last 10 minutes he/she has been sitting there didn’t get their attention!
