This comment came after one of the pre-purchase inspections we did recently. The Carmax purchases we have inspected historically have been in great shape. This one fell thru the cracks and wasn't repaired before it was placed on their lot. Carmax did the right thing and fixed all the problems we found in our inspection. Kudos to them for taking care of their customer! They have a happy customer and so do we! Did I mention our pre-purchase inspections are FREE?!
We did a pre-purchase inspection today for a car from a large used car retailer. Usually, the cars we see from their lots are in very good shape. This one had a few problems including loose hose clamps on the heater hoses and an air conditioning leak from the condenser as seen in the picture, among other things. With this information, they can take the car back to renegotiate or have these problems fixed before committing to buy it.

There are a few cars we know of for sale. All are in decent condition and maintained. There is a '03 Ford Taurus asking $1500 obo (willing to negotiate), a '06 Mazda 6 asking $3000, and a 2012 F150 asking $20k. Keep an eye out for debris in the road. This one was towed in when something hit the engine oil pan and the tire.
