It’s always fun to dress up and act out a role you don’t usually play. Imagine if you could do that in real life – for just one day. You would be granted the ability to choose any job of your liking, no matter how outlandish or exclusive. Training would be no issue and you’d be able to assume the position immediately. If money, accessibility and training were no issue, what would be your dream job? Share it with us in the comments!
#homebuyers, beware! An entire scam industry is trying to steal your identity and your money. They hack mortgage companies’ systems and steal customer information, along with what they need to send genuine-looking emails to those customers. If your mortgage company suddenly sends you an email requesting personal information, a pre-closing payment or especially a #wiretransfer, call your company on a number YOU have for them, not one on the email. Verify the request is legitimate (it most likely won’t be). Then, let the FTC know if it’s a fraud! Have you been targeted by mortgage fraud? Share your experience with us in the comments!
🥳 We are celebrating today, and we want YOU to celebrate with us! Let us know in the comments what you love most about NETCU for a chance to win a $100 SUPER1/BROOKSHIRES GIFT CARD!! Each year we come together to celebrate #InternationalCreditUnionDay (ICU Day) to raise awareness about what it means for members around the world to have a credit union as their financial partner. This year's global health crisis has been trying for many communities around the world, but credit unions stayed true to their cooperative principles and stepped up during this time of economic uncertainty. Hope is a global resource that everyone has a right to feel and experience. This year's ICU Day theme “Inspiring hope for a global community” reflects how credit unions contribute to a brighter future by providing financial empowerment to people all over the world through financial services, education and support. It can be tough to keep #holidaystress from sucking all the #joy out of the season. However, it’s possible if you follow a few simple steps! Review your gift list and narrow down your recipients, or organize a group gift exchange like a Yankee Swap. Even better: Bake holiday treats as gifts! Set up and follow a budget, and don’t let the insane holiday sales provoke you into overspending on stuff you don’t need. After the holidays, be sure to actually USE the gift cards you get, and save unwanted gifts for re-gifting during the year. Happy holidays from North East Texas CU! How do you get through the holiday season? Share your best financial survival tips with us in the comments!

Another round of #stimulus payments means another round of scams. Watch for emails prompting you to click a link to get stimulus info, and beware of calls demanding that you pay a fee to receive your check. Also, watch for bogus checks sent by mail that aren’t actually from the government and may be for much more than the stimulus payment. Don’t accept unsolicited calls about your stimulus check, and never give sensitive information to an unsolicited caller or emailer. Scammers are drawn to big payouts like moths to a flame, so don’t get burned!
