The first time I drove anything it was an old Pickup Truck of my grandfathers, I was eight years old. He took me with him to a water well drilling site somewhere in the country and he put me behind the wheel. There was a trailer attached with a water tank on it. He gave me some basic instructions and told me to follow him (he was in the truck we drove there in). For years he told everyone how he watched me in his rear view, truck swaying left to right, trailer swaying right to left. It’s a great memory for me.
The photo here is of the first car I ever drove on a date, same model, same color. It had belonged to my Aunt Doris and she sold it to my dad who loaned it to me to take my date to my first dance.
Wish I had it now.
