How To Lower Indoor Humidity - Northern Heating and Air
To Our Valued Customers,
The Covid-19 came on fast and strong and we hope everyone is making it through safely. In an effort to do our part flattening the curve, we had temporarily suspended maintenance visits until May 15th. We would like to thank you for your patience during this challenging time. We are happy to announce that we are now able to schedule routine maintenance and inspection visits, in addition to trouble calls. To ensure the health and safety of our clients and employees, our technicians will be wearing gloves and booties during their visits. Masks will also be worn when inside the home, when social distancing guidelines can not be met, and/or by request. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to seeing you soon.
As this can be a rapidly changing situation, we will continue to closely monitor the suggestions and guidelines from health and public officials to support our customers in the best way.
Call us today at (518)745-0401 and let us know how we can serve you.
While the world is focused on wearing masks 😷 to protect your health, we want to also remind you of the importance of replacing your furnace filter.
1. Dirty air filters affect the air quality in your home which can impact your health. A clean filter will help get rid of pet dander, pollen, dust and other dirty particles that add to poor air quality. Clean filter = cleaner air.
2. A clogged filter will result in your system running inefficiently and reduce it’s lifespan. This can add to increased maintenance costs.
When is the last time your filter was replaced? We recommend replacing it every 30-60 days. Give us a call today for more information. (518)745-0401
Wishing all our customers a Happy Thanksgiving. We are grateful for your continued support. We hope you enjoy time with friends and family this holiday season.
Holy snow fall! Hope everyone has gotten unburied. Don’t forget to unbury those vents as well!
It’s important to check your outside furnace and hot water heater vents after a snowstorm to ensure they are not blocked. Blocked vents will cause your systems to not work. With low temperatures, the last thing you want is your furnace malfunctioning. Proper ventilation is key and when vents are covered in snow it can create a snow cave. This traps exhaust fumes from your furnace and pushes them back into your home and can result in toxic substances like carbon monoxide entering your home. While some furnaces have a safety mechanism to shut down, it’s still important to check your vents and clear any snow/debris away from them to ensure optimal ventilation.

Fun Fact of the Day:
Trouble sleeping? According to some studies, up to 30% of Americans suffer from insomnia related health problems. Did you know that the temperature of the room where you sleep is one of the most important factors in achieving quality sleep? The best temperature for optimal sleep is approximately 65 degrees, with most doctors suggesting a range from 60-67 degrees Fahrenheit.
Our body temperature lowers at night when we sleep. This pertains to a biological process called circadian rhythms. By lowering the room temperature at night, it can assist your body’s internal temperature regulation to avoid sleep disturbance. Helping the body lower the core temperature can generally help you fall asleep faster as well.
Don’t want to have to deal with changing the thermostat temperature every night? Call us today at (518)745-0401 to learn more about a hassle free programmable thermostats.
