This month join us in celebrating the history, and the many accomplishments and contributions of the Black community to our country. Can you think of a Black trailblazer that inspires you?
We’ll go first: Gordon Parks (1912-2006). Parks was a photojournalist who called his talents his “choice of weapon” against social injustice. He’s best known for being the first Black staff member at LIFE magazine, his beautiful imagery that landed in Vogue magazine and for being the first Black director of a major film, “Shaft”.
