Shauna McIver Photography August 19 at 5:14 PM · Like many families right now our "back to school" will look different this year. We have decided to homeschool {maybe permanently} and with so many schools going virtual I've had a lot of requests for school pictures! Here it is! You will receive proofs of all 3 varieties, with the option to do a sibling photo as well. Let me know if you have any questions! {PS there is no need to go indoors as these were all done outside in my yard}

Looking down at a computer can be a real problem. In this video I show a specific adjustment to address an overlooked issue that can result in the neck.
Patient appreciation day V2.0!
We always do Patient appreciation the first week of July where I open up all day Tuesday and do nothing but New Patient exams for FREE! So many people took advantage this year that I decided to do it again here in December. There are only a few slots left so if you are serious, message us to get scheduled. First come, first serve. See you soon! New Patient Exams free the week of Dec 14th!
The upper part of the neck is the most valuable area of the spine and therefore requires a specific level of adjustment. Here we see how a fixation can limit range of motion and what a correction looks like at an advanced level. A fix for headaches.
Northside Chiropractic updated their info in the about section.

When there is compression of the back of the head on the top of the skull, and occiput lift is required.
Sometimes my Tuesday mornings look like this before I come into the office at 3. In case you were wondering.
Adaptation is essential for life.
Healing is not exponential. Peaks and valleys on your journey to wellness are to be expected. A proper plan will guide you through instead of "seeing how it goes".
An alternate version of adjusting an anterior cervical. Addressing this fixation through the anterior of the spine is essential!
Pain in the neck that extends into the shoulder can lead to a complete loss of function. There are specific things that need to be checked when you are dealing with shoulder pain. In this video, Dr. McIver walks through an analysis of 3 points of interest when looking at the shoulder. Shoulder Pain and What You Can Do About It!

Drop a 🧡 if you love the art! The base of the neck. This is the transition between the lordodic curve of the neck and the kyphotic curve of the mid back. Transitional regions love to get locked up. Now throw in what most of us do all day (looking down, sitting at a computer, working with our hand out in front of us) and its no wonder so many people claim to carry all of their stress in their neck and shoulders. I would love to see what I can do for you! Give us a call at 616.951.1635 or learn more at www.getwellgr.com
It’s impossible to make everyone happy...but I keep trying. It’s the “9” in me. What can I say. Thanks for recognizing it. I appreciate you all. #truenorth
Healing is a process. Trust the process
Celery juice every morning. Sometimes you just want that coffee but it’s very refreshing to start the day this way and the health benefits can’t be ignored.
I have a goal this year. We will hit 100 Google Reviews. This is the best way to grow our business because Google loves Google. So more Google reviews mean more exposure organically. Thank you to everyone that has already taken the time to do this. It truly means a lot.
We miss you Wayne. Your wisdom would be a gift to all right now.
Computer work and looking down all day can have long lasting complications on your system. The brain likes tension on muscles. This allows for proper feedback. When you spend a great deal of time looking down, your brain neurologically "shortens" the muscles in the front of the neck. Since you dont stay in this position all day, your muscles will start to pull at the front of the nexk and the body will have no choice but to compensate for it. We need to stop looking at everything as a musculoskeletal/pain problem and start getting deeper into the neurology and what it means. If this sounds like you, I am here to help. Lets start with a complimentary consultation first to see what we can do!
It's time to reconnect.
It's been an interesting Monday and it will be an interesting week, to say the least. Please help us hit our goal of 100 Google reviews this year!
If you have watched any of my adjusting videos you have probably seen variations of certain techniques that interest you. You may also have seen an adjustment style that scares the crap out of you! So which one will you get?
I started to keep track of my "Wows" sometime last year. I use to make a tally on the whiteboard to see how many we could get in a week. I miss quite a few and I know this number is much higher but there's something special when you remove the interference from a person's system and they utter the phrase...wow. It never gets old. I ❤️ it.
Another variation of an Atlas adjustment. Whether we are talking headaches, vertigo, ear infections, or digestive issues, the top of the neck has the potential to be the key to unlocking relief.
If you identify with a health condition, you will have that condition for life.
Most of us do not have enough rotation in our day to day. This is a simple exercise that will help break your hunched over posture and introduce some much needed movement.
If you have mastered something, you have mastered a lower tone. I am better today than I was yesterday. Always evolving. Always training. Because you matter ❤️.
The psoas muscle is a forgotten muscle that can be contributing to your low back pain. Here is one variation of how to stretch the psoas and get the low back to calm down.
Its important to understand the biomechanics of the spine so that the line of drive is correct when delivering a correction.
And we have been conditioned to believe that this is normal and acceptable. You are a consumer of a product. It's not simply healthcare. You are being advertised to. And a great deal of money was spent to know exactly how psychology works and what imagery to use to make you want to buy their product. VegSource.com March 10 at 11:58 AM · In the rest of the world, criminal enterprises like big Pharma are not allowed to push their crap in advertisements to the public. Only to doctors. So English viewers are surprised when they watch the garbage drug ads on our TV. 😂
In this video we talk to Carlos about the tension in the neck and upper back from spending so much time looking down at screens. A common problem for most of us today! We also showcase a variation on adjusting the upper back. Message us if you have any questions!
If your healing facilitator is taking the credit for the changes happening in your life, it's time to find a new healing facilitator.
Another Monday is here! Lets reconnect and get at it!
