Middle School is proud to announce our Noble Knights for the month of January. Sallu Scott, Jr. has been chosen as a Noble Knight. Sallu is the son of Dedden Johnson and Sal Scott. He is an 8th grader and has been at NCA for 8 years. He enjoys playing and training for basketball. Sallu said that most of his down time on week days and weekends consists of making sure his game is better than the last game. Sallu trains as early as 6:00 AM. His favorite verse is Psalm 23:1, “The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” Sallu said this verse helps him throughout his day and he starts his morning and ends his nights reciting this verse. Sallu’s favorite subject is English. Mrs. Phillips, his English teacher, said, “Sallu is a very determined student and can diagram a sentence with ease. He understands parts of speech and can always be called upon to answer a question. Sallu was a joy to teach in elementary and continues to be a joy in middle school.” Sallu’s future goals are to go to college, make the NBA, and take care of his parents. Zaria has been chosen as a Noble Knight. She is the daughter of Lebra Lewis and Charles Lewis. She is a 7th grader and has been at NCA for 5 years. Zaria enjoys singing, painting, and playing sports. Zaria spends a lot of time crafting and baking delicious desserts for her family and classmates. Her favorite verse is Romans 2:12-13: “All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law. For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God’s sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous.” Zaria loves this verse because it tells what God did for her. Her favorite subject is Math. Mrs. Ballou, her math teacher, stated “Zaria is a hard worker. She comes to class prepared and always does her homework. She is a friend to everyone in the class.” Zaria’s future goals are to make all A’s.
