The Twinkling Stars carved their pumpkin this past Monday and enjoyed exploring what we found inside! The pumpkin pulp and seeds were a lot of fun to squish around. We loved this (not so messy) sensory activity! 🎃
Election Day 2020... it’s never too early to show our kiddos how important this process is. Today the Kangaroo Kids cast our ballots to decide which book we should read before nap. It was a landslide for Spookly!
Northwest held their 4th Annual Pumpkin Roll this morning! The children took turns with their teachers to roll their carved class pumpkin down the big hill. We look forward to this tradition each year, it was originally inspired by a former Butterfly Buncher. This year the Twinkling Stars pumpkin rolled the farthest, nearly all the way into the Digging Garden!
🦋 The Butterfly Bunch learns about numbers in all different ways. During a lesson on spiders, we used spider rings to practice counting sets of numbers 1-5. 🕷 🕷🕷🕷🕷 **Use many different collections of objects at home to practice counting sets of numbers, too.

The Butterfly Bunch were interested in learning moon facts this week. We learned that the moon is a sphere which is a 3-dimensional shape. We sorted circles and spheres. That was tricky! We also imagined what it would be like being an astronaut as we created rocket ships. Lift off! 🚀
Ice painting in our science journals! The Twinkling Stars work each month in their journals- Color, Science and Personal! They will go home in June, but families can ask to see them at any time!
The Twinkling Stars couldn’t have a communal “snow table” this year, so we scrapped the playdough and brought snow inside to explore in our individual containers. “Cold!” “Wet!” and “Brr!” were heard a lot! We noticed the next day our snow containers became water- they melted! Just like in the story we read Monday, “Sneezy the Snowman” by Maureen Wright.

🦋The Butterfly Bunch is having lots of fun reading many different adaptations of the story, The Gingerbread Man. Along with cooking, art, and science, we had fun taking turns retelling this repetitive story through puppetry. 📚
The Twinkling Stars always love a good story! Re-reading familiar books with your child is a great way to reinforce a love of literacy! Those pre-reading skills are already hard at work at two years old. 📚
