PROVIDING HALLOWEEN CHEER TO ASSISTED LIVING RESIDENTS
Assisted living centers got a little trick-or-treat this year. Los Angeles Community Hospitals business development care coordinators donned their costumes and passed out Halloween treats of pizza, cookies, candy and soft drinks to hundreds of assisted living centers on Friday, Oct. 30. But, instead of "scaring" residents they were greeted with smiles!

VACCINE ARRIVES!
We received 205 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine created by Pfizer and vaccinations were initiated throughout the hospital for staff. Recipients include nurses, physicians, respiratory therapists, and housekeeping personnel, going down a chain dependent on level of risk.
This comes at a critical time in the fight against the coronavirus, as Norwalk Community faces many of the same difficulties other hospitals are facing state-wide.

SANTA'S CARE COORDINATORS MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR SENIORS DURING THE HOLIDAY
Santa and his elves left the cold of the north pole for sunny Southern California to partner with Norwalk Community Hospital care coordinators drive-through Christmas. The team passed out Christmas bags filled with blankets, socks, slippers, robes and pajamas to more than 50 nursing homes, assisted living and board-and-care facilities. The Bellflower dietary staff also provided scrumptious box lunches to go along with the gifts. The decorated tunnel drive-through event yesterday.
During the COVID pandemic many of the residents in these facilities have limited contact with others on the outside. It is hopeful that these gifts will bring them some added joy for the holidays.
