In honor of #NationalComicBookDay, we monitored the conversation about comic books to try to understand how and why they've enjoyed continued relevance in pop culture over the years. We identified a number of possibilities from the trending terms associated with comic books, including the insight they provide, perspective on life, and nostalgia for early memories linked to comic books. In short, it seems like comic book stories address themes of human nature and political issues that continually re-surface, so they remain pertinent even as time progresses and trends change.
