True to tradition, the wonderful patrons at Carpenter Park Recreation Center did their part and donated 40 jars (62 pounds) of peanut butter for this year's Peanut Butter Drive! These patrons, (also known as The Carpenter Walkers), delivered the jars to the North Texas Food Bank yesterday. Thanks Don and crew for spreading the hope! 😍 City of Plano, Texas Government

It instills confidence. Bharatanatyam teaches patience, hard work, teamwork, and beauty in everything. The art also teaches compassion, discipline, dedication and commitment,” says Mukund. “Bharatanatyam has made me creative which helps me challenge myself in innovating, expanding, change and adjust to different culture and audience but still preserving the art form in its natural state. Many personal items can be left behind at our dog parks, which can cause more harm than you think. Because so many dogs congregate at dog parks, diseases and fungal infections like canine distemper, kennel cough and others can be passed on to other through their saliva and stool. Don't forget to take toys, balls and bowls home with you 🐶 REMEMBER: Animals must wear current registration and rabies vaccination tags on a collar or harness at all times. For information on City of Plano licensing procedures and regulations, please visit www.plano.gov/194/Animal-Services or call 972-769-4360. Plano Parks & Recreation is partnering with Plano Fire-Rescue to conduct a prescribed burn this Friday afternoon (2/5) at Oak Point Park & Nature Preserve. These periodical burns help control invasive plant species, reduce the fuel load that causes wildfires, and open the soil for native grass regeneration. The burn will take place on the hillside in the northwest portion of the park. The park will remain open to the public during the burn and signs will be placed to keep visitors away from the fire. Please plan your visit accordingly. Trails are expected to remain open, but there could be closures near the burn if needed.
