Dr. Maraya Altuwaijri is certified by the American Board of Vascular Surgery and the American Board of General Surgery, and received her General Surgery training from the University of California, San Diego.
During her fellowship in Vascular & Endovascular Surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., Dr. Altuwaijri achieved an outstanding academic and clinical record, and was commended for exceptional clinical judgment. She also received the highest recognition from the Chairman and Staff of the Vascular Surgery Department at the Mayo Clinic for outstanding operating skill during her training.
Dr. Altuwaijri is one of the first physicians in the United States to earn the Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI) credential from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), the highest standard in vascular ultrasound interpretation.
As a member of the American Venous Forum, Dr. Altuwaijri works with an international consortium of vein specialists dedicated to improving patient care. She is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the Society for Vascular Ultrasound and the Society for Vascular Surgery.
Dr. Altuwaijri has published numerous articles in peer reviewed vascular surgery journals and contributed to Mastery of Surgery, the foremost reference journal on surgical techniques.
When not practicing medicine, Dr. Altuwaijri enjoys spending time with her husband, children and family.
