About our practice
Oklahoma Foot and Ankle Institute is a state-of-the-art, full-service podiatry practice providing innovative solutions for chronic conditions, acute injuries, and diabetic foot care. The practice’s two conveniently located clinics are on North Meridian Avenue and South Western Avenue in Oklahoma City.
The practice’s board-qualified foot and ankle surgeons Nicholas Plants, DPM, AACFAS, and Leila Straehla, DPM, AACFAS, provide comprehensive care. They can diagnose and treat a wide variety of foot and ankle disorders, as well as athletic injuries. The podiatry team regularly treats patients who have sports injuries, bunions, plantar fasciitis, nail fungus, and ingrown toenails.
Oklahoma Foot and Ankle Institute is home to some of the most advanced medical technology available. With the clinic’s high-tech biomechanical analysis system, patients can get fitted for custom orthotic inserts designed with their specific condition in mind. The team also provides HyperBlue 1530 multi-use diode laser treatments to treat fungal nails and perform matrixectomy procedures for ingrown toenails.
The practice even boasts an innovative wound care management program designed for geriatric and diabetic patients, as well as patients who suffer from an acute foot wound. The podiatry team uses the SensiLase® PAD-IQ System to diagnose and treat issues with tissue healing, diabetes-related lower extremity complications, and vascular impairment from peripheral artery disease.
Practitioners are available for scheduling at nursing homes to further assist in caring for geriatric patients. The podiatry team can also help patients select diabetic shoes and insoles to prevent future wounds.
The team at Oklahoma Foot and Ankle Institute welcomes new and existing patients to the practice. Both offices offer flexible scheduling throughout the week for patients of all ages, from children to seniors.
