We are saddened to share the passing of Old Dog Street Rods founding owner, James C. Pavelec. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers.
Jim was a Navy Veteran where he was trained as an aviation electrician. After leaving the Navy and returning to St Louis, he began his career as an electrician and member of IBEW Local 1. Jim founded Bell Electrical Contractors in 1972, where he remained as owner-operator for 30 years. He proudly grew the company from a 2-person operation into a thriving business employing over 250 electricians and office personnel. Upon retiring in 2002 from day-to-day operations at Bell, building on his passion for classic cars, Jim and his wife Carolyn founded Old Dog Street Rods in Maryland Heights which continues in operation today.
In addition to his dedication to his businesses and family, Jim was an active member of the community. He was a Maryland Heights Councilman where he served as President Pro Tem. Jim was an active member of the St Louis Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association for 30 years, serving in many leadership roles including Vice President, President, and Governor. He served on St Louis County Electrical Board of Examiners, Pinnacle Lake Association Board, and was an active supporter of the St Louis Arthritis Foundation and Ronald McDonald House Charities of St Louis.
Just an FYI, We are open 10 till 4 Monday - Friday and closed on the weekends. we are currently only allowing one customer at a time in the Showroom. If you need parts, please call ahead and we can have them ready for you. If you wish, you can use the store feature on our website and we can ship the parts to you.
