Old Wood recently had the opportunity and honor of working on the remodel of one of Santa Fe’s most historic and beautiful hotels. The La Fonda holds so much history for both the city of Santa Fe, and the Old family personally. So when we were approached by Barbara Felix Architecture + Design about doing the flooring for the newly remodeled Santa Fe Room, we jumped at the opportunity. Ultimately, the architects chose a beautiful walnut, which was to be installed in a herringbone pattern, along with walnut steps with white oak nosing for contrast. Herringbone flooring, while visually stunning, is a difficult and labor intensive floor to install. Old Wood’s installer, Adrian Mariscol, and his team did a fantastic job of managing the installation and finishing of the flooring and stairs. We hope that if you ever visit this historic hotel in the heart of downtown Santa Fe, that you will take a look at the Santa Fe Room and let us know what you think!
An enduring classic. Old Wood’s traditional tongue and groove Douglas Fir flooring, wire-brushed with a clear UV-cured topcoat looks stunning in any setting! #douglasfir #oldwood #sustainable #firereclaimed #green #americanmade #solid #wood #flooringexperts

If you’re in Santa Fe today, be sure to tune into the Richard Eedes show on KTRC - AM Talk 1260 | 103.7 FM at 3pm to hear a couple of our owners, Shiloh and Mika Old visit with Richard Eeds about the big things we are doing here at Old Wood!
Old Wood ended 2020 with a bang with this beautiful custom home in Durango, CO. From the ceilings and floors, to the beautiful mesquite butcher block countertops, we were honored to collaborate with the home's owner from beginning to end. The home features our circle-sawn Douglas Fir flooring with our custom color, OW Zebra. The fire reclaimed, Ponderosa Pine ceiling brightened the space and showcased the stunning, tall ceilings. Finally, dual islands were topped off with custom mesquite butcher blocks.
We couldn't be more pleased with the final outcome!
