The International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness has designated October 8, 2020 as World Sight Day. Did you know - a billion people have a vision problem that could have been prevented? We celebrate the eye care professionals all over the world dedicated to helping others and providing hope in sight.
While contact lenses provide many vision benefits, they are not risk-free. One important tip to remember is that a contact lens is a medical device that requires a prescription. Different contact lenses often are made from different materials and in different sizes, some of which can be comfortable and healthy for you to wear, while others can lead to discomfort and even eye health problems.
It never gets old watching someone receive their first pair of glasses. Congratulations James!!

February is Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) awareness month. Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) is the leading cause of severe vision loss in adults over age 50. Macular Degeneration is an eye disease affecting the macula (the center of the light-sensitive retina at the back of the eye), causing loss of central vision. In its early stages, the following signs of macular degeneration can go unnoticed. This is one reason it’s important to continue seeing us for regular eye health exams. What good is the warmth of summer, without the cold of winter to give it sweetness? What do you love most about the wintertime?
January is National Glaucoma Awareness month. Glaucoma is a complex disease in which damage to the optic nerve leads to progressive, irreversible vision loss, and is the second leading cause of blindness. It’s also known as the “sneak thief of sight” because early stages of glaucoma usually have no symptoms, no noticeable vision loss and no pain. Early detection, through regular and complete eye exams, is the key to protecting your vision. Learn more here: https://bit.ly/34qrBlW
