We had a couple of field trips today. First, we went to Opticare in East grand forks and all 4 of my kids had their eyes examined by Dr. Gander. Not a field trip you say? This man was amazing! He was so patient with my boys, answered every question, explained every test and piece of equipment, went over the anatomy of the eye, and really went above and beyond, educating them as he went! I was so impressed.
Next, we went to play it again sports to outfit the boys with ice skates. The sales clerk was also very patient, told them all about how ice skates should fit, the differences between hockey and figure skates, they got to watch the sharpening process, learned about “skate baking”, etc. it was awesome.
I am so grateful for opportunities to learn so much as part of the things we need to do anyways. Sometimes, all it takes is asking questions and showing that you’re interested. Then people will just run with it and tell you so much that you would’ve never even known to ask about!
Anyone else have any awesome impromptu field trips lately?
