Oral & Facial Surgery Center of Joplin is committed to the patients of the four state area and we are continuing to serve patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. We will continue to perform procedures for symptomatic teeth and disease of the oral & maxillofacial region. Elective surgery will be rescheduled to a later date.
Treatment of symptomatic and dental disease before it results in severe infection of the maxillofacial region that requires emergency room visits or hospital admittance is paramount during this time.
Anyone with cold or flu like symptoms or with family members with these symptoms, should call to reschedule their appointments. Patients will be screened for fever before being seen.
We are utilizing social distancing and require most adult patients to enter our facility without being accompanied by others. We will communicate with escorts and drivers by telephone.
We are happy to announce the addition of Dr. Frank Newman and Dr. Dale Bays to our surgical staff.
Dr. Newman grew up in Kansas City and comes to us from Springfield, MO where he has been practicing at Mercy Hospital for the last 11 years.
Dr. Bays grew up in Jasper, MO and now comes to us from Minnesota where he has been practicing for the last 20 years. Dr. Bays and Dr. Burnett have been friends since their time together at UMKC School of Dentistry.
Drs. Burnett, Newman and Bays are committed to providing care with compassion and excellence.
With more doctors, Oral and Facial Surgery Center of Joplin now has more appointments available to better serve the 4-State area.

Lets learn something new today...
Which teeth are most often impacted?
Wisdom teeth, which are usually the last teeth to grow in — typically between the ages of 17 to 21 — are most typically impacted.
By the time that wisdom teeth — also known as “third molars” — come in, the jaw has often stopped growing. The mouth and jaw may thus be too small to accommodate them. Because there’s no real need for wisdom teeth anymore, they’re typically removed if they’re a problem. If you have a small jaw, you’re more likely to have impacted wisdom teeth.
