A #RainbowBaby🌈 is a baby that is born after a loss from miscarriage, stillbirth, or neonatal loss. Many Rainbow Baby parents celebrate the joy of a successful pregnancy after a previous loss, seeing their baby as a bright spot after the storm. Rainbow Babies represent love, hope, & new beginnings. 75% of menopausal women experience hot flashes. Hot flashes and heart rate acceleration are the result of the low production of estrogen during menopause. These are some lifestyle changes to consider to improve hot flashes: 1) Dress in layers, which can be removed at the start of a hot flash. 2) Carry a portable fan to use when a hot flash strikes. 3) Avoid alcohol, spicy foods, and caffeine. 4) If you smoke, it may be time to quit. 5) Try to maintain a healthy weight. 6) Try mind-body practices like yoga of other mindful techniques (yoga, meditation, tai chi). If lifestyle changes aren’t enough to improve your symptoms, consult with your provider about managing hot flashes with medication/treatments. Schedule an appointment with one of our providers if you have further questions, 949-829-5533.
