Dr. Kathy Yu-Syken provides full spectrum comprehensive services for Ear, Nose, Throat (ENT) conditions at her practice, Oceann ENT in Huntington Beach, California. Patients count on her personalized and compassionate care whether they have a sinus infection, ongoing allergies, ear infection, hearing loss, throat disorders, or any other ENT problem.
Although Dr. Yu-Syken always begins with the most conservative treatment that’s best for each patient’s needs, she specializes in minimally invasive and CT-guided sinus procedures that are effective, don’t need an incision and produce long-lasting relief from conditions like chronic sinusitis.
She is one of the few surgeons certified in performing minimally invasive balloon sinuplasty as an in-office procedure without the need for general anesthesia.
Dr. Yu-Syken graduated from the prestigious UCR/UCLA seven-year biomedical sciences program, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. She completed her bi-campus residency training in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at the renowned Columbia University Medical Center and Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York.
In addition to having many articles published in national medical journals, Dr. Yu-Syken has also had the honor of presenting her work at several national otolaryngology meetings. She is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology.
Dr. Yu-Syken is an active member of many professional associations, including the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and the American College of Surgeons. She also currently serves as the Chairperson of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center.
