Our Pharmacy Technician program instructor shared a link to a Walmart promotional video where one of our program graduates makes a cameo appearance. Anthony Shorey is a stellar example of an Orange Technical College graduate on a trajectory to success. As a National Technical Honor Society student, this alumnus is PTCB certified. He currently works as a pharmacy technician for Walmart and is now a bit of an OTC celebrity.
Additionally, this program is currently at 100% certification pass rate for the beginning of our 2020 year. The Pharmacy Technician program is a double accredited program that works very closely with pharmacy heavy hitters like Walgreens, Walmart and area hospitals. We are proud of the students and talented instructors Mrs Santos and Mrs Turner that lead them to success. Anthony, can we get your autograph? 😎⭐️
Instructor Kyle Roach making teaching online and face to face look so easy. This lesson is a great example of how our teachers are serving students while balancing instruction in a hybrid classroom. Mr Roach is monitoring hands on demonstrations by each student in the kitchen and each student online. Students’ kitchens at home have turned into classrooms.

WildCatTV is our Digital Video Program at Winter Park High School. Since their stadium can only have 25% capacity for Covid precautions, WPHS wanted an alternative to keep the community involved in their 1st home football game.
The students learned how to use a new free streaming software called OBS and tested how to properly connect our studio cameras to the software and then to a YouTube. The video team created an animated graphics package and crossed fingers that it wouldn’t rain. We can call this adventure in live streaming a definite success. These students have another hands on project to add to their resumes. Fantastic job as usual Mrs Gerber!!!👏🏼👍🏼 Orange Technical College

Celebrating Medical Assisting Week, here's an alumni update from Instructor Bonnie Davenport...
"In the lower left corner, in the blue scrubs (kneeling down) is Nicholas B. He was a student in the MA program graduating in 2017.
He had always aspired to work as a Medical Assistant in the branch of oncology. Since before starting the program, he cared for his Aunt who had cancer. He wanted to take his passion and share his care with others. After graduation, he worked in Orlando for an Internal Medicine office, where after about a year, he became the lead MA and the MA that trained all new MA's coming into the practice. He recently relocated to Nashville where he was able to realize his dream. He now works for Vanderbilt Cancer Center, where he has a passion for his patients!
He is one of many students that have gone on to become what they truly wanted to be. We are but a small hand in shaping their lives. Proud of each and every one of them." - Bonnie -

What a great way to start Thanksgiving break! Mrs. Shell and Dr. Cap celebrate student success with an LCP awards presentation to these awesome ESOL students. Our academic programs serve a critical role in CTE and our community. Acquiring English language fluency contributes directly to these students’ career growth and earning potential.
