Upon graduation, he worked in commercial banking for several years, and then received his Juris Doctor degree from The Northwestern School of law in 1979. He has been married to Marilyn Smith for 50 years and has four children. When not helping clients solve financial stress, he enjoys running (he has a few marathons under his belt), kayaking, cycling, and an occasional round of golf.
