Are you living paycheck to paycheck? If your entire paycheck disappears by the end of the month, you’re not alone. Equifax reports that nearly 80% of Americans are spending their entire income every month. This is a scary place to be! You’ve got no cushion: If your car needs repairs or your kid breaks an arm, how do you cover the extra expense? This is why building an emergency fund is so important. Experts recommend saving at least six months of living expenses, but if that goal seems too big, start with a goal of one month and work your way up.

We are thankful for our veterans everyday, but today is YOUR day. Thank you for your service and sacrifice.
.
Origin SC is dedicated to improving the lives of our local veterans. While all of our programs are open to veterans, we make a special effort to thank them for their service with the programs listed: https://originsc.org/veterans/
.
“I’ve got God first and foremost to thank…[but] I just want you to know I thank you very much for helping me get there. Know that all the work that you do doesn’t go unnoticed or unappreciated because the good Lord knows that I’ve not only noticed it, but have also greatly appreciated what you’ve done for me.” – a grateful Veteran
Domestic violence and abuse do not discriminate. They affect people of all races, ages, gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic backgrounds, education levels and can occur in marriages and relationships. On average, nearly twenty people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States; in a single year, nearly 10 million—a harsh statistic. Additionally, 1 in 4 women have been victims of severe abuse by an intimate partner in their lifetime.

Data from a major Massachusetts hospital found a significant year-over-year jump in intimate partner violence cases among patients, many who sought emergency care during the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic. We need your help now more than ever to help lower these numbers that are rising at a dramatic rate.
At Origin SC, we offer group workshops and individual counseling for those who have experienced violence or abuse in the home. We know that the first step to healing is asking for help and, when that happens, we’ll be there to offer support and guidance.
